Septic Systems and the Holidays

Septic Systems vs. the Holidays

With the holidays fast approaching, your septic system may be the last thing on your mind. Ironically, possibly the worst time of the year for you septic tank to back up is around the holidays. It is also a more common time of the year for this unfortunate event to take place. There are a couple of reasons for that, one being there is usually more rain at this time of the year, which causes septic systems to back up more easily, two usually you have guests over which tend to use more water and produce more waste. At Firehouse Septic, we recommend taking the late part of October or the early part of November to make an appointment to get a maintenance pump on your septic tank. This way, you will be able to rest easy through the holidays knowing that you tank is freshly pumped and shouldn’t back up while you have guests in town. Unfortunately, if you do not get your septic tank pumped ahead of time, you could end up backing up with guests in your house and not being able to get anyone to come pump out your tank for days.

So, if you are in Fayette County, GA or Coweta County, GA and you haven’t had your septic tank pumped in the last year, we recommend calling Firehouse Septic and scheduling a maintenance pump. This will ensure one last thing to worry about over the next few months of celebration. Like we say, it is always better to be proactive than reactive and this will give you peace of mind that you will not be put into a terrible situation with guests at your home. If you are in Peachtree City, Sharpsburg, Senoia, Tyrone, Newnan, or Fayetteville, please call us at 770-616-3838 and schedule your septic maintenance pump today.
